The Asath of the Forsaken Land are a distinct race adapted to the barren Desert of Black Sands. They are descended of Asath from Ageond that converted to serving the Dark Gods during the War of the Gods. Craeseth, as the son of Alaezo, took responsibility for the Asath that survived the Cataclysm in the remnant of Ageond.
