Dogs
Domestic dogs in Aserra are descended from wolves that found cooperation with ancient humans. Humans are largely responsible for domesticated dogs, though some other races have taken on breeding their own. There are numerous breeds that have been transported across the world, bred often for working purposes, but also for companionship. As a result, dogs come in various sizes, forms, colors, and characteristics. Aserra's breeds may resemble some familiar dogs, or be wholly unique.
Domestic dogs can go feral. It isn't uncommon for stray dogs to form their own packs, and after a few generations, become wild. Feral dog packs are a problem for some cities and environments as they can be dangerous to people and livestock, as well as local fauna. Ertia is plagued by feral dogs descended from imported dogs that threaten to displace native predators.
