Cratian Vampires

Belonging to Craeseth, the God of War, these vampires are the physically the strongest and most fearsome clan. Rather than seducing their prey with charm and subversion, Cratians rely on feral, bestial strength to capture and control their victims while they feed. Covens of this clan are rare outside of the Forsaken Land as they lack the cunning and ability for deception to survive elsewhere in the world. Most Cratian clans live outside of human and Danaij societies, making homes in the mountains outside the borders of nations and sweeping in to take prey from outlying villages.

Appearance

Cratians do not gain the benefits of beguiling beauty that some clans do and appear to be the same age they were when they were turned. However, they do gradually grow taller, broader, and more muscular after their turning. They are also able to be scarred, which is unique amongst the other clans of vampires. Drinking blood will hasten the healing of wounds, yet scars will remain. Cratians take pride in their battle scars though, and each coven even has its own scarification ritual where deep cuts are inflicted in order to leave a tribal design on various parts of the body.

Abilities

Cratians have the weakest ability for telepathy amongst vampires. They do have a telepathic connection with their sire and weak connections with their coven-mates, and they can only communicate within about 100 feet of each other. Rarely can they detect the surface thoughts or emotions of their prey.

Their senses are strongly enhanced, however, including a heightened sense of smell and hearing, as well as thermoreceptive (infrared) vision. When hunting at night, they can see the heat of other living things.

Physically, their strength is the greatest amongst all vampires, but their agility and speed are lessened. However, to a human, the speed of a Cratian can be terrifying as sometimes they will drop to all fours in pursuit of prey like a beast.
