Tigris
The Tigris tribe of Ochae'nafod are bound to the tiger species found throughout western Thiskel and inhabit regions isolated from humans. Much of the wilderness of North Thiskel is home to tigers, as well as the jungles of western South Thiskel, and Tigris clans can be found in those regions as well.
The Tigris are one of the better known Ochae'nafod of Thiskel, as they are tall and striking and bound to a very notable species, but also because they are historically recognized as fierce warriors in the War of the Gods in the legions of the Idayn and Nafod.
Appearance
The Tigris tribe are frequently tall and solidly built, tending to be muscular rather than fat, especially in warmer climates. On average, Tigris men stand between 6'3" (191cm) and 6'6" (198cm) and women between 5'10" (178cm) and 6'1" (185cm), with averages varying between regions in correspondence with the local subspecies of tiger.
Tigris facial features have a suggestion of feline traits, but also share similarities with their human neighbors in their native regions. Typically, they have a squared jawline and moderately long face. Their skin color varies by region, with some being fair to tanned, or ranging through shades of brown. Their hair color is often an orange shade, corresponding to the dominant coat color of their tiger form, but their brows and eyelashes are black, mimicking the natural sort of "eyeliner" markings many cat species have. Their eye color matches the color of their tiger form and is commonly gold or a yellow-green blend.
Culture
Though typically persisting in isolation, the Tigris tribe can be quite bold. Not only are they bonded to an apex predator, but they are taller than most humans. Tigers are a solitary animal for the most part, but the Tigris tribe survive in small family clans. Their romantic relationships tend to be short-lived flings with members of other clans, and children born from these unions rarely know their father and are raised by their mother's clan.
Tigris relations with humans are cautious, but their relations with other Nafod (particularly those of carnivore tribes), Idayn, and other races is often strong. However, they keep to themselves and live in cloistered communities.
They tend to build small, individual huts from whatever building materials are available in their region, sharing space only with their children or a preferred family member. They build these huts in a circular pattern around a central work area and fire pit.
