Orycto
The Orycto is the name of the tribe of Ochae'nafod bonded to the Thiskelian rabbit, which is the only rabbit species large enough to shape-shift into in Aserra. This tribe is found primarily in North Thiskel and prefer woodland as opposed to their Lepus cousins.
Appearance
The Orycto are one of the shortest Ochae'nafod tribes, with females standing at an average of 4' (122cm) and males up to 4'5" (135cm). They are close in appearance to the Lepus tribe, by Oryctos are not as lean and lanky in build, even appearing stocky in comparison to the extreme leanness of the Lepus. Orycto facial structure is still narrow and large-eyed, but they tend to have shorter faces than Lepuses.
Skin color is typically fair to tanned, hair in shades of brown to correspond to their coat, and they have medium to light brown eyes.
Culture
The Orycto, as they are bonded to a prey animal, take on the wariness of rabbits in their interactions with outsiders. They are often cautious and alert, but when they are at ease, they can be quite warm and friendly. They can also be quite indulgent. Romantically, they are inclined to short term relationships and flings rather than long-term bonds.
Their diet is vegetarian and they typically forage for food and maintain small community gardens of local favorites. Orycto communities are largely static, except when their area is threatened by human incursion or natural disaster. They build homes in earthen mounds with thatched roofs, though they do not go as far as burrowing like rabbits do.
