Seasonal Goddesses

The four Seasonal Goddesses were the first of the Third Generation Gods. They were fathered by Zelan, and birthed by Maris, Entra, and Brecha. It was their conception that as well as began the War of the Gods, as Ispa was snubbed by Zelan with his reluctance to include her. While they were present during the War of the Gods, they were cloistered away in the safety of the Maze of Dreams with Entra while the rest of their family battled.

Fria is the Goddess of Winter, born to Maris. Areria is the Goddess of Spring, born to Entra. Glaeria and Oleiria are the Goddesses of Summer and Autumn, respectively, and are twins born to Brecha.

In the Kalestan Calendar, the months of the sixteen-month year are named after the Goddesses for the season they fall in, and numbered I-IV. For example, the year starts in Areria I, at spring equinox and the next three months are Areria II, Areria III, and Areria IV, after which summer begins in Glaeria I, and so on.

The Seasonal Goddesses are worshiped by humans across temperate Aserra and have Temples of the Seasons established to them across northern Thiskel and Kalesten. Each goddess is prayed to as needed by season, mostly by farmers who desire ideal conditions to grow their crops.
