Ascended gods
Ascended gods are beings that began as mortals and became gods. Ascension is a process by which a being develops greater spiritual complexity and awareness, thus transcending the limitations of their form and becoming. Ascension can be gained by devoted ascetic practices or by a boon of knowledge and awareness granted by a more powerful entity. There have been numerous Aserrans who have attained enlightenment and ascension by their own power, but only ones of world-wide notoriety are presented below.
The Fates
The twin Idayn sisters Niariss and Uvesa were Oracles of great repute in Thiskel, long before the War of the Gods. The aspect of Fate had been in Nydoini's realm, but she sought a replacement for this task and instead of selecting another god, she granted the sisters the boon of Ascension, and upon their mortal deaths, they were reborn in Zephaer and the duty was passed to them.
Chepol
This ascended god is not worshiped, but he is known for being the father of Casril and lover of Erada. He was an Ochae'nafod of the Vulpes tribe and survivor of the War of the Gods. During Erada's time on Aserra, Chepol served her and she fell in love with him. As a reward, he was granted ascension, after which, Casril was conceived. After the death of his mortal body, he followed Erada to the Maze of Dreams, her mother's realm, and now resides there.
